Paáhanua left the country in November last year after winning the 2010 Solo Icon competition.
The winner of the Solo Icon won a trip to Australia to record an album.
Mr Paáhanua recorded his first album with Australian music producer Kelvin Fahey of Hardrush Music.
During his stay in Australia Paáhanua also performed at the Canberra Country Music Festival in November.
William Ewing from the Australian High Commission presented the prize to Paáhanua.
He said that his success was well deserved and reflected the extremely high quality of artistic talent in the Solomon Islands.
Paáhanua’s album will be released later this year.
The young talented singer will return and see where his music career takes him this year.
He is also waiting for his examination results which are yet to be released.
