Express Pelican II has resumed its shipping service to the Malaita provincial capital of Auki this week after obtaining its business license from Malaita province.

A delegation from Express Pelican visited Malaita provincial secretary Fredrick Fa'abasua yesterday during its first trip to Auki.

The delegation collected Express Pelican shipping license from Malaita province during the brief visit.

Malaita PS Mr. Fa'abasua then took a brief visit onboard Express Pelican with the shipowner, manager and captain.

The PS said the condition of the ship had improved compared to previous times where he said this will offer comfortable traveling for the traveling public.

Express Pelican management thanked Malaita province for the shipping license as the ship now resumes its service to Auki.

According to Express Pelican Manager Albert Lau, the ship will operate seven days a week leaving Honiara at 9 am in the morning and then return from Auki to Honiara at 3 pm in the afternoon.

Sea fare for Express Pelican are as follows; economy class $280, business class $380 and first class $500.

However, Manager Lau told Solomon Star Auki yesterday that for the first week they will province special fare for traveling passengers, which is $200 for economy class and $300 for the business class.

It only takes less than 3 hours to travel between Honiara and Auki.

Schedule for the daily trips has been published in this paper over the past days.

With the festive season now approaching the service will give more opportunities for the public to travel between Honiara and Auki in a more comfortable trip in less than three hours.
