MUNDA police in the Western Province
will soon take ownership of 6 new houses soon.
The six new houses will be officially
opened next month, on December the 6th.
This was confirmed by permanent secretary of the Ministry of Police and Justice John Wasi.
These new houses were funded by Police Participating Force (PPF) through RAMSI and the New Zealand government which cost about $SBD1.42 million.
Minister for the Ministry of Police and Justice Clay Forau and Prime Minister Gordon Darcy Lilo are expected to witness the opening of the new homes.
Mr Wasi revealed that Noro Police station, another station close to Munda also benefited from the project.
“Houses for Noro police officers have already been opened last month.
“Other Police stations in the province will also benefit from the project but construction work will start as soon as other requirements to start the actual work are ready.”
The opening program will coincide with the groundbreaking ceremony to upgrade Munda Airport into an international standard on the same day, with the celebration of the Western Province second appointed day on December 7 together with the week long celebration of the Lagoon Festival from December 5 to 9.
