THE World Youth Director of the Seventh Day Adventist Church Pr Barala Muganda will arrive in the country today.

Pr Muganda will be here to oversee and contribute to the 2010 Solomon Islands SDA Mission Youth Congress.

The week-long youth congress which is being held at the SDA area at Burns Creek was launched yesterday.

Pr Muganda of the Churchs’ General Conference Youth Ministries Department will be the guest speaker for the weeklong program.

In his welcome address prior to his arrival, Pr Muganda urges people to focus on the return of Christ. 

“Time is short. The Lord will return soon and we cannot allow ourselves to become distracted,” he said.

Pr Muganda said youths joining together is a powerful agent for change.

“So powerful that the devil will never be victorious.”

He challenged the youths to love the lord with all their heart, soul, mind and strength.

He called on youths attending the program to shine out for Jesus and make a difference during the weeklong program.

Associate Youth Director of the Solomon Islands Mission Raynick Jack said Pr Muganda will arrive today afternoon. 

“There will be a guard of honor at the Honiara International Airport upon his arrival. 

“He will then be brought straight to the grounds where an official parade will be held to welcome him and also to officially open the program,” Mr Jack said.

He said that already Youth Director of the Trans Pacific Union Mission Pr Maveni Kaufononga is in the country.

Guests who are expected to attend the opening ceremony include; Prime Minister Dr Derek Sikua and Guadalcanal Provincial Premier Hon Steven Panga.
