INFLATION for the month of September 2009 dropped, the Central Bank of Solomon Islands (CBSI) revealed.

In its monthly economic bulletin, the bank said the September inflation was lower than August.

"September inflation calculated using the three months moving average slowed down to 2% from 3.4% in August," the report stated.

The overall decline mirrored drops in both local and imported components to 3.5% and 0% respectively.

Meanwhile December inflation was not available.

It is expected to come out in the next report.
