A STUDENT media seminar was held at Don Bosco prayer house West Kola’a Ridge on 12th -14th march 2010.
A total of 36 students attend.
The came from St Joseph Tenaru, Don Bosco Henderson, St Nicholas, St John, and Bishop Epalle Secondry School.
Catholic Communication director Fr Ambrose Pereira said this is the first media seminar for students and staffs offered by Catholic Communication this year.
His assistant Joe Vidiki assisted with some of the sessions.
Topics covered are:
*Audio media
* Print media
* Visual media and new media – Multi media.
Catholic Communication animators also shared their experiences.
Emile Daiohu shared the different types of books in the Unit’s book store that can help the lives of individuals and families.
Gwen Toki shared the challenges for youths and how to create a programme for youth Quest.
John Toki shared his experience being a stringer for local media, including the Solomon Star and the national broadcaster.
A lively and animated session by Elmarie gave the students possibility of expressing themselves.
The day was ended on Sunday with Eucharistic celebration by Fr Ambrose Pereira and he encourages student and staffs to carry on their work as they return to their various schools.
Students and staffs thanked the animators for sharing their experiences.
