Mr Panga is one of the intended candidates for the North Guadalcanal seat.
However in the final moment he decided to withdraw to the dismay of many of his supporters.
One of his supporters Selwyn Maeke told Solomon Star that it was shocking for them that their candidate withdraw from contesting in their constituency.
``We have seen a lot of good work Mr Panga did at the provincial level as our member and premier and therefore we believe that he can do the same as our MP.
``This somehow discouraged us to vote in this coming election as we were not sure of the other intending candidates of how well will they perform if they come into power,’’ he said.
Most of the positive outcome in our province was done by our premier like addressing of land issue and rehabilitation, Mr Maeke claimed.
When contacted yesterday Mr Panga he decided not to contest because of competition between the candidates.
“Therefore I decided not to contest.
``Even though we all have the freedom to contest we should not see it as a competitive game.
``However we should have a clear mind of why we are competing and what best outcome will it be to our people in our constituency if we came into power but not as a game as to who will win,’’ he said.
He appealed to his supporters to participate in the upcoming election and vote for any candidates they think will best represent them in the parliament.
