Principal Magistrate Judith Fleming of Australia came under RAMSI’s law and Legal Program and will be here for one year.
Magistrate Fleming had been working in New South Wales Magistrates Court and the Juvenile Court as a magistrate.
Having taken her oath before Chief Justice Sir Albert Palmer on Monday and a welcoming ceremonial sitting held for her in the Honiara magistrate’s court on Wednesday, she is ready to preside.
Since
her arrival in Honiara almost a month ago, she had been observing magistrates presiding
on court cases.
