Under Secretary of the ministry of health-health improvement Dr Tenneth Alepanda said the large population will of course stretched the health sector’s already limited resources.
“However he said the delivery of emergency stocks donated by the WHO recently was a timely gift which will provide backup clinical supplies. For that I would like to thank WHO for those timely donations which will enable us to deliver the necessary services demanded by the larger population,” Dr Alepanda said.
He added that stock takes in all clinics have already been done to ensure supply stocks are available for the increase in surge capacity in the city as well as other host provinces.
Meanwhile the Honiara city health services are said to have specifically tasked to absorb the increase in surge expected into Honiara from throughout the country.
However Dr Alepanda said they are mobilizing their supply lines to ensure movement of supplies are well coordinated.
