Western provincial government have lost one
of their active and dedicated leaders over the weekend.
He was the late Aquila Talasasa provincial member for Nusa Roviana, ward 16.
He died on Saturday at the Gizo hospital following a suspected heart failure.
A Western provincial government spokesman yesterday confirmed the death and said the province and people of Western Province had lost one of their active, committed and dedicated man who had a passion to bring change to the people in Western Province.
"It's a shocking news for the province," the provincial spokesperson said.
He added that late Mr Talasasa was a leader who did his best for his people and the province as a whole during his term in the office.
“On behalf of the people of Western province and the country we thank late Talasasa for all the good works he had done for the province.
“May all his good works be remembered in the years to come,” the spokesman said.
The funeral service of late leader will be held today in Gizo.
