Eagon pays students’ tuition to SICHE

Eagon Pacific Plantation Limited (EPPL) in its continuous commitment and support to human resource development in Solomon Islands has paid off tuition for its 7 sponsored students currently studying at the Solomon Islands College of Higher Education (SICHE) this second semester.

A cheque payment was delivered by In-Sup Shin who is the managing director of Eagon to the SICHE director Donald Malasa recently.

This year Eagon provide scholarships to 15 Solomon Islands students studying in various schools and institutions in the country. 

These students were sponsored under Eagon’s Western Foundation Scholarship Scheme.

Out of 15 scholarships, 7 scholarships have been awarded scholarships for students to study at SICHE.

When presenting the  cheque Mr Malasa Eagon’s managing director said that the company is pleased to assist with  education needs of the local students and will continue to improve and increase its scholarship scheme in future.

“We are so pleased to assist the students with their education,” Mr Shin said.

Mr Malasa in receiving the payment acknowledged the company for its continuous support for education in the country and the provision for such scholarship for local students.

Eagon which operates the forest plantation at Arara, New Georgia, Western Province is one of the companies which continue to support the country’s forestry sector through reforestation.
