DEAR EDITOR – May I again burst the issue of Soltai which was buried some months and years gone already with no further action taken by the responsible authorities.
Anyway the concern here is how long will this issue going on? Samting fo ting aboutem ia!
The pond water raised about Soltai for canning tuna is only a cover page taken by the new Management in the name of change and costing cutting.
Firstly I would like to ask the Management why Soltai is not using the SIWA water. When they are the only water authority people in the Solomon Islands?
Instead used the well water mixed with salt water even surrounded by squatters too.
Secondly, why Soltai is not using the SIEA electricity? Instead used 3 or 4 generators lying visible on top of the wharf to supply electricity in offices.
Thirdly, what about the huge stocks of carteen Taiyos, Fish meal bags lying idol in warehouses with limited cash flow not like before.
Why? Is it the system does not work or the Management does not worried about except for the exporting loin Tuna that they care.
Now from where you are you can give a wild guess that the New Management does not care about our products at all, they fight for their own pockets and then flee leaving embers.
To make things worse recruiting of more casual laborers especially female in a crowded environment is not really good.
Beginning of this year 2010 I have seen a lot of young dropouts flooded in for employment, and that should remind our Government both Provincial and National to provide a lot of job opportunities, rather than toiling for long hours like slaves.
