THE country on Sunday recorded 115 new COVID-19 cases and three deaths.
Ministry of Health and Medical Services Permanent Secretary Pauline McNeil confirmed this during the Sunday Talkback Show yesterday.
Mrs McNeil said of the 115 new cases recorded in the past 24 hours to midday yesterday – 16 are in Honiara, 45 Malaita and 54 Makira Ulawa Province.
She said the new cases brought the country’s total number of COVID-19 positive cases to 6937 to date.
She said of the three deaths recorded yesterday – one death was at Central Field Hospital and two in Malaita Province.
She said these deaths brought the country’s total number of deaths to 96.
The permanent secretary said other provinces are yet to submit their reports.
“…hopefully when the minister comes on board to do his daily update, he will highlight the reports from the provinces,” Mrs McNeil said.
