The Public Accounts Committee (PAC) today will commence hearings into the second supplementary appropriation bill intended to further fund the financial year ending 31st December 2018.
The Ministry of Finance and Treasury brought the 2018 Supplementary Appropriation Bill 2018 sought approval for a total of $119.4million for 11 Government ministries.
A total of $21.7million was appropriated with an advance warrant of 9.9million to cater for the ROC Funding towards the Constituency Development and further $11million for medical bill, rentals, utilities, outstanding GP labour mobility within the Office of the Prime Minister and Cabinet.
A total of $21million was also appropriated by the Ministry of Education with $20million in support toward the completion of the infrastructures of SINU and $1million in donor support. A total of $20million was also requested to cater for the parliamentarian’s terminal grants.
The remaining $57million is distributed to the other 8 line ministries besides the Ministry of Finance and Treasury, including the Ministry of Health and Medical Services, the National Judiciary, the Ministry of Environment, Climate Change, Disaster Management and Meteorology, the Ministry of Infrastructure Development, Ministry Lands, Housing and Survey, the Ministry of Rural Development and the Ministry of Communication and Aviation.
