AFTER years of hard work and sleepless nights, 120 students of Don Bosco Technical Institute (DBTI) graduated last Friday with certificates in various programs they successfully undertook.
The 2024 Graduation Ceremony filled the school hall with cheers, applauses and a palpable sense of accomplishment as students marked a monumental milestone in their educational journey.
The event, heralded as a testament to hard work, dedication, and perseverance, showcased the determination and commitment of the graduating class in pursuing excellence in their chosen fields of study.
The various programs undertaken by the students were:
- Certificate three business administrations;
- certificate three building construction;
- Certificate three Electrical Technology;
- certificate three Hospitality Tourisms;
- Certificate Information Technology;
- Certificate three machinist fittings;
- Certificate metal worker fabrications;
- Certificate three, motor vehicle mechanics; and
- Certificate Solar Technology.
The action-packed program commenced in the morning at the Don Bosco Hall with a Thanksgiving Holy Eucharist Mass in the morning that was co-hosted by the DBTI Rector Fr Raphel with two assistants.
DBTI Principal Paul Allen Daro, in his remarks, commended the graduates for their unwavering resolve and lauded their achievements as a reflection of their diligence and passion for learning.
He emphasized the Institute’s commitment to nurturing talent and fostering a culture of academic excellence with the graduations theme ‘’ From Dreams to Reality Transforming lives.’’
‘’Be simple in everything you do. The theme reflects the transformation of your dreams to reality. You need to transform yourself to become a skilful person in the future.
‘’Graduands your hard work has paid off today but your journey does not stop here. Do not sleep with your certificate. Go out and prove to the world the knowledge and skills you gained here at Don Bosco Technical Institute. The society today needs persons with education and skills who can contribute economically to the community and country as whole.”
The ceremony was graced by distinguished guests, including APTC Country Director Solomon Islands and Kiribati, Abigail Chang, Rector of the Nazareth Apostolic Center, Fr Nickson and DBTI staff and students who came together to celebrate the accomplishments of the graduates.
The graduation ceremony ended with dancing and singing by DBTI student groups, including the graduands.
