The Fiji Rugby Union has short-listed applicants for the Flying Fijians head coach’s position.
FRU received 20 applicants after terminating Inoke Male’s contract earlier this year after holding the position for the past two years after the 2011 Rugby World Cup in New Zealand.
On Wednesday last week, FRU board member Dr Esther Williams had a teleconference with the International Rugby Board to present the three short-listed candidates.
FRU acting CEO Dr Berlin Kafoa confirmed they had short-listed the applicants.
“Dr Williams is looking after the applications,” he said.
“Yeah, from the 20 applicants we have short-listed two or three.”
The Flying Fijians head coach will guide the national 15s team to the RWC qualifiers against Cook Islands this year.
Fiji needs to beat Cook Island to qualify for the RWC in England next year.
