TWO hundred and sixty-three polling stations have been set for the voting day in Malaita Province next week.
This was confirmed by the Election Office in Auki on Sunday.
“Out of the 902 polling stations, Malaita has 263 polling stations ready for Election Day next week,” the election office said.
The office explained that those polling stations are being identified and placed around the constituencies based on the total population.
Meanwhile, civic awareness is still being carried out in the province.
“The assistance returning officers (ARO) have started the awareness program last Monday and are expected to finish this Wednesday,” the office said.
The office added that the aim of that civics awareness is just to show how to vote when the polling stations are opened and many simple things that will happen during voting day.
The program has conducted smoothly in the Constituencies and they are hoping for a peaceful election in Malaita province.
