A total of more than $3.7 billion of the 2018 Appropriation Bill was passed on the floor of parliament on Monday.
This was made possible after a lengthy consultation at the committee of supply, since Thursday last week that finally ended yesterday afternoon.
The Bill went for its third reading at the committee of supply and subsequently passed without any amendment.
Almost $3 billion is under the recurrent head and development budget reaches $700 million.
Also, the total national budget support for 2018 is $244 million.
The 2018 Appropriation Act 2018 will now enable government to spend money according to its programs aligned to its policy this year.
Prime Minister (PM) Rick Houenipwela said the Solomon Islands Democratic Coalition for Change Government (SIDCCG) will waste no time in implementing the budget according to the priorities set for the remaining eight months.
PM also moved a motion on the floor of the round house that parliament is now adjourned until 18th of July 2018, which is three months away from now.
The adjournment is to allow his Ministers to get down to business and start work, allow the MPs to visit their constituencies, give time for responsible committees on the remaining Bills that need to go before Parliament.
