After weeks of suspending its services fast craft 360 Discovery is now back in service after a new engine was replaced.
In a statement on Thursday, the management of BLK Investments Co Ltd, owners and operators said the boat is now ready to serve the traveling public.
“We would like to inform our good traveling customers from Auki and Ngella ports that we are back in service,” the statement said adding they regretted the suspension of the service for such an extended period due to engine problem.
A new engine has been replaced on the starboard, which is expected to allow the boat to provide service.
“We have installed a new engine on our starboard and have repaired our port engine to a reasonable level, until we can change over the engine once more. This will need time and money.
“We are still trialling the two engines so bear with us as we slowly increase our operation days and speed. We will eventually get there. Weather too has been very unkind over the last few days.”
With the Malaita day next week, 360 Discovery is expected to provide daily service except on Saturday. After the celebration the boat will return to provide its normal 5 days trip.
