The Focus Taekwondo club has successfully held the first grading for its student for this year over the weekend.
The grading was held at Multipurpose Hall conference room and attended by students, families and friends.
There were 38 students being graded which comprised of both boys and girls.
Beginners graded for yellow and some for their higher belts.
It was a very successful grading, which took two and half hours.
The practitioners were fit and put on very impressive performances in front of the judges.
It ends successfully with a group photo and words of thanks and encouragement from the judges.
The grading was officiated by three first Dan Black Belts senior members of the club.
The club leader Junior Maetia was very happy with the grading and looking forward for another one towards the end of the year.
There will be two more grading yet to be done for this year.
Meanwhile Maetia calls on any interested person who want join his Taekwondo club to come along and register whether it is for fitness or competition.
The invitation is open for boys, girls, men and women.
Training days: will be on Tuesdays, Fridays and Saturdays at the Honiara senior high school hall.
The schedule times are 5pm to 6:30pm for Tuesdays and Thursdays while trainings will start from 8am to 10am on Saturday mornings.
The Focus Taekwondo club is run by Junior Maetia here in Honiara and in connection with Master John Wilson in Australia.
Junior Maetia took his First Dan Black Belt last year from Master John Wilson and came back and started the club in Honiara senior high school.
The club is a year old but is very successful in terms of growth and competitions.
