About 59 people involved in the recent logging disputes at Vasara camp, Rendova in the Western Province were arrested by police on Monday.
Commissioner of Police Matthew Varley confirmed to the media during a press conference, Monday.
He said police are monitoring the situation there as additional officers from Honiara and Gizo were deployed to the scene on Monday.
He appealed to all communities around the country to stay away from taking the laws in their own hands, and must seek other peaceful means of dealing with disputes.
He added that those who were arrested will be questioned and dealt with by the local court in the Gizo Magistrate.
