SIXTY four Solomon Islands students undertaking studies under the Australia Pacific Technical College (APTC) will be graduating on Tuesday.
In a statement on Monday APTC said Australian High Commissioner to Solomon Islands His Excellency Roderick Brazier will be the guest speaker at today’s ceremony.
The students will be graduating from 10 programmes which include community services, engineering (mechanical trades – diesel fitting and machining), electrotechnology electrician, hospitality, individual support, painting and decorating, plumbing, light vehicle mechanical technology and youth work.
APTC said 38 of the 64 students who will be graduating today are women.
It said the largest group to graduate are from Certificate II in Hospitality Programme with 22 students.
It said the highlight of the ceremony is the group of pioneering Certificate III in Community Services students.
The program was successfully delivered by APTC in Solomon Islands, in collaboration with industry partners for the first time last year.
The graduating students have studied at APTC campuses in Fiji, Papua New Guinea, Samoa, Solomon Islands and Vanuatu.
Representatives from government as well as key industry partners along with APTC staff, graduates, their friends and family are expected to attend the graduation.
The graduation ceremony will be held at Heritage Park Hotel from 3pm.
