EIGHTY Solomon Islanders graduated from the Australia –Pacific Technical College (ATPC) in Honiara, Tuesday.
The graduation is the second of its kind held this year by ATPC in the country where the first was held early this year on the month of May.
The 80 students graduated from a total of 14 different fields namely, Carpentry, Commercial Cookery, Community Service, Electro-technology Electrician, Engineering –Mechanical Trade (diesel fitting), Engineering –Mechanical Trade (refrigeration and air), Formwork/Falsework, Home and Community Care/Age Care, Hospitality, Light Vehicle Mechanical Technology, Pluming, Tourism, Wall and Floor Tiling and Community Development.
All of the 80 students graduated with ATPC certificate three.
Speaking at the graduation ceremony on behalf of the graduating students, IverlynDiudi said they want to thank the ATPC, the Australia government and the national government for giving them the opportunity of the life time to learn.
“I am proud to convey our sincere vote to acknowledgement to ATPC for giving us the golden opportunity to enhance our skill and knowledge in various trade, technical and professional service in different works of life”, she said.
“Also on the same knot I would like to extend our appreciation to both the Australia government and Solomon Islands government through its relevant authorities for recognising the need to strengthen and develop our human resource capacity that may be lacking in our formal education, she added.
She said what the APTC training is offering should be continued and recognised further in our education capacity building sector and in all walks of life.
