OVER 800 athletes from Solomon Islands will be travelling to Australia to train in the lead up to the 2023 Pacific Games.
A statement from the Australian High Commission in Honiara yesterday said second secretary Tilda Michalski was at the Solomon Islands National Institute of Sport (SINIS) to farewell the country’s hockey team as they depart to Gold Coast to attend elite training camps.
The athletes said they look forward to an opportunity to experience the facilities and train hard.
The statement said sports unites and Australia is proud to be Solomon Islands number one partner in sports development.
