THE Suva Football Local League competition started on a high note at the USP grounds in Laucala Bay on Sunday.
Ten games were scheduled to be played but only nine took place after Tamavua failed to turn up for their super premier clash against Flagstaff.
Suva Football Local League chairman Niranjan Prasad was pleased with the turnout.
He said it was a good start to the season and hoped for a better turnout in the upcoming rounds.
Prasad said they would resume their competition on April 27 after the Easter break this weekend.
“It was a good start. Apart from one team which failed to turn up, others were on time and we hope this remains the same throughout the season,” he said.
“We are anticipating an interesting local league competition this year.”
