THE Fiji National University has stepped up a notch to offer a unique deal to the public.
With the opening of the Chula Training Restaurant and Bar at the FNU Nadi Campus, students will be able to train and upskill themselves as well as offer something different to the public.
College of Business Hospitality and Tourism Studies dean Dr Mahendra Reddy said students from FNU’s various food and beverage departments would undergo hands-on training at the new facility before heading out into the industry.
“The daily menu is prepared from various training manuals, enabling students to not only learn to prepare the dish but also how the plate will be the order of the day to provide the guest the best culinary experience and satisfaction,” he said.
“The training builds on self-confidence of students and the pace of preparing meals using a combination of quality local ingredients and technical skills, combining well-flavoured dishes with good presentation,” Dr Reddy said.
