A team from the Solomon Island chamber of commerce and industry (SICCI) recently visited Western province as part of its provincial business outreach program.
SICCI chief executive officer (CEO) Jerry Tegemoana described the visit as successful and comprehensive.
During the tour they visited Munda, Noro and Gizo where they met with provincial government officials and top business people in the three centres.
“Our meeting with them was to hear from them, their challenges and achievements and share business ideas inorder to help them move forward in the area of business and economic activities,” the CEO said.
He said most times the chamber just organised business talks for the Honiara based business operators which is unfair.
“Our aim now is to reach out to the provinces and assist them where possible.
Last week’s trip to the Western was first one for this year.
The CEO thanked all the businesses which met with them.
The next proposed provincial visit will be to Auki, Malaita province.
