Solomon Airlines may be rejoicing having won the Dreamline Car Rentals Inter Company weekly challenge last week but they can expect a tough challenge when defending their crown at tonight’s competitions.
After defeating the highly rated Solomon Telekom last Monday the Flysolomons team will want to prove that their victory was by no means a fluke.
They entered the tournament as the “under dogs” but came out the champions at the end of the night much to the surprise of so many pool players.
Tonight’s competitions starts at the usual time of 7pm at Club HP, Heritage Park Hotel and the organizers are anticipating a much tougher competitions this time.
Entering the tournament for the first time will be the Blue Ocean Shipping who has registered two teams. They had to fly in an expert pool player from Noro Western province to add the needed firepower to the team. Also their captain had to be transported over from Avivi overnight.
Another tough challenge will be expected from the Fashion de Isles team. They were the favorites at last week’s competitions but surprisingly got knocked out at the earlier rounds by Systems Computers.
However with the return of their captain from Fiji over the weekend will see the Clothing boys putting on a much better show tonight. The Captain left for Suva the next morning after the competition last week to attend some specialized training under the watchful eyes of expert coaches at United Club, Suva.
And Solomon Telekom will definitely be once again the team to beat. After unexpectedly loosing the crown last week they will be out in force at tonight’s event making sure they don’t became once again the second best.
They have been undergoing some intensive training over the last couple of days at their recreational centre tidying up their shots and are expected to be tougher at tonight’s event.
Other challenges are expected from Lolomo Eco Retreat, Bowmans, SolBrew, and Point Cruz Yacht Club.
The boys from the Australian High Commission and the Helicopter guys are also likely to put in teams. And entering the competition for the first time will be the Zenith Engineering and Environmental Services.
Despite all the preparations the challengers have been putting on over the last seven days, Solomon Airlines as the defending champions are confident they will once again turn out victorious.
“We will bulldoze our way to the finals thrashing any opponent we came across. We got a lot of talented players and in fact our only problem is who to leave out. This is our game and will fly even higher this time!” commented one of their supporters.

The competitions are for doubles, two players make up a team but up to 4 players can play for a team.
