Tambalivu church of Visale parish in northwest Guadalcanal celebrated feast day of the holy name of Mary last Friday.
The celebration of the holy name of Mary was held annually every year.
More than 500 people from surrounding communities of Visale attended the program.
Northwest Guadalcanal Solomon Star stringer John Toki said Visale parish priest Fr Peter Houhou officiated in the holy mass.
Mr Toki said Fr Houhou told people of Guadalcanal to reunite with their families like the example set by Mary in the Bible.
“Parents teach children to grow up and follow the attitudes of holy Mary”.
Mr Houhou encouraged people who attended the program to emulate her work in churches today.
He urges Catholic Church members to work according to church laws and policies.
Meanwhile Fr Houhou acknowledged everyone who attended the program.
