WOMEN’S Rights Action Movement (WRAM) in partnership with Vois Blong Mere Solomon islands will organise a one day workshop and forum on the Family Protection Act today.
The workshop will be held at Kairos conference room, Hyundai Mall.
The aim is for media groups to become aware of the Act and strategies needed to report and advocate on the status of the Act especially during the upcoming 16 days of Activism campaign against violence against women.
WRAM is a newly established non-government organisation which works at addressing and advocating on women and girls issues in the country.
The organisation aims for advancement of human rights, gender equality and non-discrimination by seeking accountability from duty bearers and advocating for rights holders.
WRAM together with other stakeholders has contributed to the lobbying and development of the Family Protection Act in addressing one of its focus areas on the elimination of violence against women and girls.
With support from Vois Blong Mere and their role in liaising with the media will assist in facilitating the workshop.
