East Guadalcanal South Sea Evangelist Church (SSEC) hosted a one week regional youth convention at Numbu village on Thursday in Honiara.
More than a hundred youths from various communities around Guadalcanal, including Honiara attended the event.
The program opened with a parade before the fellowship kicked off.
As part of the opening program, guests were escorted by Numbu womens’ band with other delegates featured with Ghapatapa association youth members with their welcome song.
The theme is; ‘Envisioning Youths to Discover God’s Purpose for their Live.’
Speaking at the opening ceremony, youth coordinator Robert Enoch Bosa said, the convention marked another milestone in the spiritual growth of Guadalcanal youths and members this year at Numbu community.
“Together with one mind and vision, let us uphold God’s purpose and opportunity for us to focus more on what God has in store for our lives.
“We must rise on our feet and take the lead in fulfilling God’s plan and purpose.
“We use this convention as a time to come and be part of this year’s regional youth convention,” Mr Bosa added.
He challenged the youths to share God’s word and show Christ like character.
He said, the association was happy to host youths around Guadalcanal and Honiara.
The convention was officially opened by Reverend Bishop Matthias Lima.
