Solomon Islands will be participating in 17 games of the 28 sports that have been set for the pacific games in Papua New Guinea, this year.
Around 21 countries in the pacific will take part in the games.
The event is expected to start on July 4 and ends on the 18th.
It was reported squads in all federations including the Paralympics will be participating in the pacific games this year.
Paralympics has just joined the National Olympic committee of Solomon Islands [NOCSI] last year and by joining the pacific games, this will be the first time.
“The Paralympics will be participating mainly in athletic events,” NOCSI president Martin Rara said.
He said some federation have already undergone preparations since last year
Sports that have been earmarked to take part included, Athletics, Boxing, Basketball, Beach Volleyball, Body Building, Football, Karate, Netball, Rugby 7s, Rugby League, Table Tennis, Swimming, Taekwondo, Triathlon, Touch Rugby, Tennis, Volleyball and Weightlifting.
