David Chung will be the sole candidate in the 2015 OFC Presidential election campaign, the Oceania Football Confederation can confirm yesterday.
The Tuesday (December 16) deadline for submissions to run for President of OFC has passed with incumbent Chung the only candidate to put themselves forward for the role as head of the organisation.
Chung was first elected for the post of OFC President in January of 2011 and will be re-elected for a second term starting today.
The 52-year-old Papua New Guinean, who began his career in football administration as first a referee then coach, was elected as President of Papua New Guinea Football Association (PNGFA) in 2004, a position he still retains.
Chung has overseen a raft of reforms with the centrepiece of his first four year tenure as OFC President the development of the Home of Football complex at Ngahue in East Auckland, a state-of-the-art sports facility that boasts two artificial pitches, a futsal court, complete with commercial and office space.
With his re-election as OFC President, David Chung also retains his position as a FIFA Vice-President.
