The Solomon Islands Woman In Business Association (SIWIBA) group, is looking gearing up for SIWIBA’s 10th Anniversary celebration at the end of this month.
SIWIBA Coordinator Nina Tuhaika the event is held to commemorate the hardship and achievements members of the group had been through in their struggle to fulfil the aims and objectives of SIWIBA.
Ms Tuhaika said three days of organised activities has been planned including the usual display of products by women.
“Women will be showcasing their skilled work as has always been during the Mere Market events.”
She said that the event will start on the 28th to 30th of January.
She said the public can learn more about the work of SIWIBA and its members during the programs. Many people perceived SIWIBA as a platform for organising the Mere market, but there is more to SIWIBA, therefore the opportunity for members of the public to learn about the organisation will be during the three days. Some of the organisation’s roles include development, capacity building, networking and promotion of women’s issues in the society.
She added that a parade has been planned to kick start the programs.
