More than a hundred participants both male and female attended a new literacy school at Holy Cross this year.
The school was managed by the Counsellor of Holy Cross Cathedral Georgiana Sogote’e.
“The main goal for the training is to equip and train both old and young people who don’t know how read and write to love and serve God,” said Mrs Sogote’e.
She said, “I try to establish the school in the last two years but I could not make it possible due to my challenging jobs. Even though I encounter many challenges and not formulate the training possible in the last couple of years but I still strive to overcome and provide the training this year after receiving request phone calls from people who want to know how to read and write.
“I really have the heart to help and respond to the great needs and demand of people who don’t read and write.”
She added, at the moment she has a female staff to help provide the training. She is hoping to employ more staff when they find a proper place or location for the training.
A male student George Wale said, “I attend classes from January and “I’m really happy with the outcome of the training. It gives me more knowledge and fair understanding on how to read and write.”
Mr. Wale thanked Mrs Georgiana for her great love for offering the training to people like him.
Meanwhile school management encouraged the public who wants to learn how to read and write to attend the training.
