CLOSE to 20 market vendors mostly women from Kogu village on South Rannogah, Western Province have opened their ANZ go-Money account during an one day Go-Money awareness at the village on Tuesday.
ANZ sales team visited Kongu village to carry out the ANZ go-Money awareness.
The awareness aims to help women vendors to save money in bank rather than doing their savings in their homes.
The successful ANZ go-Money awareness was also part of ANZ go-money strategy to promoting ANZ –Go-Money banking in rural and remote areas in the country.
Erick Pitu, ANZ Gizo Go-Money sales officer told the Solomon Star yesterday from Gizo that 20 women vendors opened their ANZ go-Money account in Kongu village on Tuesday.
“Most of these women are from Kongu village with few from the surrounding villages,” Mr Pitu said.
He said, ANZ go-money team has also encouraged women vendors and community members who turned-up during the awareness to save money in banks than house.
“Saving money in your homes is unsafe so only bank is the safest way to save money,” Mr Pitu said.
He thanked all those who turned up for the event.
The next go-money awareness will be announced soon.
