Seven Solomon Islands tennis players will be taking part in the 2015 Fiji Open Tennis Championships this week.
They players are Junior Benjamin Charley, Graham Mani, Christinoh Fujiyama, Vinda Teally, Georjimah Row, Luke Paeni and Yanni Honila.
This was confirmed by senior player and trainer, Yanni Honila.
Honila said the team will put in their best performance but most importantly prepare themselves for the Pacific Games in Papua New Guinea in July.
Most of the players are Solomon Islands players who are Fiji based and are on tennis Scholarship at the Oceania Tennis Institute in Fiji.
The 2015 Fiji Open Tennis Championships will be held at the Denerau Golf and Racquet Club, Denerau Island, Nadi from Wednesday 27 May to Sunday 31.
There are a total of 41 events comprising open, seniors, social and Junior events.
“I believe this tournament will be good to build up for Pacific Games as very few tournaments are held here in Fiji.
“The kids will have the chance for play with overseas opponents and gain more experience through this Fiji Open competition,” he said.
