THE Honiara Football Association (HFA) will be organising a school league for all interested schools within Honiara as of this month.
HFA general secretary Leonard Paia said HFA will tap into the young talents group of school students after the successful completion of the HFA League.
“Now that the league is over, HFA Executive is looking forward to running the school league from August to October 2015.
“The league will be open to all schools within the three Honiara constituencies and other interested schools around Honiara,” Paia said.
He said the initiative is part of soccer development in Honiara.
He added that another soccer development initiative is setting up a school of excellence for young kids.
“HFA is also preparing to set up centres of excellence within Honiara City starting in early September 2015.
“The Excellence Centres are part of the long term soccer development plan of the current HFA Executive.
Paia said more information on the initiative will be made known soon to the general public in Honiara and interested children within the targeted age category of 8 to 12.
