Dear Editor – I call for CDF to be changed and be called MP’s discretion fund.
The reason is obvious when MP’s, CDO’s, chairpersons and those who voted for the winning candidates do not allow other constituency citizens to access the fund.
The list for projects under CDF omits all other citizens of the constituency.
Why call the fund CDF when it is discriminatory in nature?
The fund has not being used for the constituency and warrants a change of name to truly reflect the nature of use.
If CDF changes to the suggested name it will be fair for those of us in the constituency who do not fall within the criterion of CDO’ & chairperson’s family members and those who vote for winning MP.
Maybe it is not true for other constituencies but for East Honiara the current meetings to finalize the list for project recipients entertains the criterions mentioned above.
I rest my case but I urge other citizens to reflect and contribute.
