THE St Michael Church of Melanesia at Marasa inland West Guadalcanal has ordained its new priest.
He was priest Thomas Vecho.
Mr Vecho was ordained over the weekend at St Michael Church.
According to North West Guadalcanal Solomon Star stringer John Toki, the priest was ordained by Rt. Ref. Bishop Nathaniel Tome diocese of Guadalcanal.
The new priest will serve in the St Michael church.
“Thank you for offering yourself to take up this task, be courage and do the work faithfully,” Bishop Tome said.
“I know that the work will not be easy sometimes but God is our refuge in those times,” he added.
Mr Tome said, that Christians in those areas must work together with the new priest to make more disciples for God.
New priest Vecho said, he would like to acknowledge God for giving him the plan to be a priest.
“Thank you everyone and especially the bishops and church leaders, church members and everyone who come to witness this program,” Mr Vecho said.
“I am looking forward to working together with you to make disciples for Christ in this end time.”
