MEMBERS of the Mothers Union from Gaeta and Hongo districts in the southern part of Small Ngella, Central Islands province have formally closed their programs for this year.
The event was attended by more than a hundred women from around the area.
The closing ceremony was held at Dende village, Gaeta district which attracted many people including provincial government officials.
The theme for the celebration was ‘Strengthening Family Lives.’
Speaking at the occasion Bishop of the Central Solomons Rt. Rev. Bishop Ben Seka thanked everyone for their participation and support towards the work of Mothers Union throughout this year.
“Thank you all for working together in carrying out your ministry to raise families in Christ in these districts.
“Your ideas have worked well throughout the years that I would like to congratulate you for that,” he said.
“We now end all the activities of this programme for this year but let the attitudes of Mother Union remain in you until we meet again next year to continue with the work.”
Bishop Ben urged all the women to work really hard to save lives for the Kingdom of God.
Following the closing the members of the Mothers Union will sit down and plan for next year’s program.
Salome Lomuna, a woman leader from Hugo District said, it was a challenging, interesting and enjoyable to work with Mothers Union.
Ms Lomuna added, that it was a blessing working with the two districts which continue to see the work of Mothers Union still alive.
“Thank you all the women and may God Bless you all as we close off the Ministry for this year and come back again next year,” Ms Lomuna said.
The three days celebration started on Friday and concluded on Sunday.
