BANK South Pacific (BSP) is currently undergoing an upgrade of its systems as a result of the acquisition of the Westpac operations in Solomon Islands on October 30th 2015.
A statement from the bank yesterday said; “This will enable BSP to provide higher more robust service levels going forward as well as allow the introduction of new services in future.
“For a period of time BSP will have two banking systems until they are merged and all services are offered by a single system. Until then some transactions will be not be available in all BSP locations,” the statement said.
It added that, the first step of the migration is BSP taking over the management of the former Westpac systems which will happen after hours on Friday November 6th until Sunday November 8th 2015.
“This announcement of system interruptions applies to the former Westpac systems; all existing BSP systems remain available throughout the migration weekend.
“As part of the system upgrade, some of the following banking services will experience intermittent outages between 10pm on Friday November 6th and 7am on Sunday 8th November 2015.
“ATM and EFTPoS/IPG Services, SMS Banking Services, and Internet Banking.
“With the exception of Internet Banking, which we expect will be unavailable the entire weekend, we do not expect the outages on these systems to be prolonged and we will strive our utmost to minimise the down times,” the statement added
However, BSP apologises for any inconvenience caused and appreciate the understanding of its customers. Any queries or concerns can be directed to the Customer Service Centre on 21874.
