The Tongs Corporation sponsored Malaita Subi Rugby Team kicks off the Inter Island Rugby Championship with a very convincing win over Temotu on Saturday’s main game.
The team is a mix of Auki and Honiara based players started the game on a slow pace but stepped up the committing some basic errors.
About 15mins into the game the team then got together to work on their game plan with the forwards running hard before the backline outpaced the opposition and got Felix to score try of the game.
Subi rugby team never looked back from then scoring 10 un-answered tries to have a final score of 58 points to nil.
The new outfit sponsored by Tongs Corporation boosted the team morale and sends a message to the other islands that will face them later this week.
The Auki based players are camping at Town ground Stadium and have been having morning and afternoon sessions with other the Honiara based players in preparation for the next game
