Solomon Islands Women in Business Association (SIWIBA) has successfully hosted its first ever Corporate Event with their Gala Night Launch on Thursday at the Monarch Bar & Grill, IBS.
The launching was well attended by corporate houses around Honiara, who braved the rain and enjoyed the night with SIWIBA who received Corporate Sponsorships that will support upcoming events, including the proposed SIWIBA Women in Business Awards 2016.
SIWIBA in a statement acknowledged and expressed deep gratitude to all who accepted the invitations from SIWIBA and were part of the event right to the end despite bad weather.
SIWIBA President Dalcy Tekulu in a statement said, “on behalf of the SIWIBA Board, Staff and members, I would like to sincerely thank our sponsors for the tremendous support during SIWIBA’s Gala Night Launch last week.”
Mrs Tekulu highlighted that SIWIBA plans to give awards to its members who are “business women who run businesses and continue to be in business, in spite and despite of the many challenges facing women.”
Mrs Tekulu further adds that purpose of the launch is to ensure that “our partners still stand and believe in what SIWIBA advocates for in terms of Women’s Economic Empowerment”.
She stressed that the great partnership with corporate houses is a milestone for SIWIBA to achieve sustainability and recognition for women in business in Solomon Islands.
SIWIBA Vice President and Head of the Gala Night Launch Committee Julie Gegeu Haro, acknowledged the presence of all who attended the event with SIWIBA, now embarking on the sustainability of the organization and “the local partnership is very vital”.
With SIWIBA’s role to empower women economically, the recognition, co-operation and support from the good sponsors during the Gala Night Launch will take SIWIBA’s initiatives to be mandated at another new level.
