The Vuhokesa Ward tournament set for this coming Easter has been postponed for Independence Day.
Tournament’s Major Sponsor and the Councillor for Vuhokesa Ward, Councillor Greg Malefo confirmed this to Star Sports in an interview on Wednesday.
“This is due to unavailability of the proposed sports venue at the Honiara High School,’’ Councillor Malefo said.
“The proposed venue will be used during the Easter for fellowship, as such we decided to postpone the tournament to July this year during the Independence Day,’’ he said.
“We’ve also take into account the current wet weather we’ve been experiencing in the country,’’ he added.
As such Councillor Malefo apologised to all interested teams who are prepared for the competition, adding it beyond his control.
“I would like to apologise to all teams who are well prepared for the competition,’’ Malefo said.
However, Malefo promised that he will host the tournament during the Independence Day.
