WOMEN vendors living in Honiara City has benefited directly from the Solomon Games 2016, as the city plays host to this year’s games.
This is evident as they nearly occupied some of the games venue in the city.
Places like King George, Panatina Rugby pitch, Lawson Tama, and Mamanawata has seen being populated by women vendors.
They have been selling cooked foods, betel-nuts, drinks and other foodstuffs on these games venues to the spectators as well as those that are in the capital joining the games.
“We would like to thank the Solomon Games committee for bringing the games back to Honiara.
“As you can see here, we are benefiting directly from the games when it was played here,” Rose Kokoi, a vendor at the Mamanawata beach venue said.
Most of these women have also thanked the organizers for spreading the games venue around the city because it also allows them to benefit directly from.
The Mamanawata beach is a venue to some of the beach sports – Beach Soccer and Beach Volleyball.
