THE 2016 inter-tertiary soccer competition enters its quarter final playoffs, Thursday.
This was after other pool final matches were played on Wednesday except for the final pool match between SINU 1 and Alafua.
This match will be played today at 9am before the quarter final matches set off.
Wednesday’s games were proven tough as team’s battle it out to secure a spot in the top 8 or quarter final round.
Meanwhile, Laucala 1 and Laucala 2 have already booked their spot in the quarter final together with Emalus and SINU 2.
The other top four teams to compete in the quarter finals will be decided today after the final pool match between SINU 1 and Alafua.
Results of games are as follows;
FNU beat USP SI by 1 goal to nil, Laucala 2 draw with SINU 1 nil all, Alafua beat USP SI 3 by 1-0, USP SI 1 beat ANZ 1-0, Emalus beat Laucala 1 by 1-0, USP SI 2 overcome SINU 2 by 1-0, UPNG won against FNU 2-1 and USP SI 3 draw with Laucala 2 nil all.
Also Futsal matches commenced yesterday at the Pavilion Hall.
Local university students residing in Honiara are urged to come at the games venues to support their respective teams.
