RESIDENTS of Burns Creek settlement affected by the floods say the government must find land to relocate them.
The settlement was one of the hard-hit areas in Honiara, although no one was killed.
Most of them are now taking shelters in evacuation centres in Honiara.
Pastor Richard Taloga said it’s time they move out from the area.
“We want the government to offer us a land so that we can relocate,” he said.
“We know that Guadalcanal plain and the area that we are residing including Honiara town are disaster zones.
“Yet the reason we did not move from that area is because of economic interest.
“But now that we are badly affected and the area deemed no longer safe, we have to relocate.
“That government must therefore find the land.”
