KILUSAKWALO Christian Community High school and Regent Park Christian school in Australia raised more than $5,000 in Auki over the weekend to assist victims of last month’s floods.
Students and staff of the Australian school have spent last week at Kilusakwalo, teaming up with their hosts at the end of their stay to raise the funds.
Funds raised were later handed over to the Auki Police Station staff officer Patricia Leta, who deposited it into the National Disaster Manage Office (NDMO) bank account.
School principal Robert Jones said he was proud of his students and their visitors for assisting in this small way.
“This may be only a small amount but we are proud to contribute in such a small way,” Mr Jones said.
The students and their Australian friends performed a drama and sang songs to raise the funds.
