A 35-YEAR-OLD mother from Nagolau village, Isabel Province, stabbed herself early Sunday while three suspects were arrested at Buala station over the weekend for malicious damages.
Isabel provincial police commander Jerry Rofomana said that the stabbing incident happened around 2am.
“The mother stabbed herself with a kitchen knife on the stomach, Mr Rofomana said.
“The cause of the stabbing is not known and we are still investigating but reports revealed that the mother was mentally affected.
“She was rush to Buala Hospital and then flown by chopper to the National Referral Hospital Monday for medical treatment,” the provincial police chief said.
Mr Rofomana added that over the weekend three suspects were arrested by Buala police.
This was after the trio alleged caused damages to properties in Buala.
Police will continue to carry out its regular duties to ensure public safety and therefore called on everyone’s cooperation, he said.
